Berik Kaniyev

Between 1994 and 1999 Mr. Kaniyev managed his own oil processing and distribution business and worked as President of KBK Ltd, President of Kazneftecom Ltd and President of Neco Ltd. From 1998 to 1999 Mr. Kaniyev was Vice-president of National Oil and Gas Company KazakhOil. He then served as Independent Advisor to the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan from 1999 to 2001.

Currently, Mr. Kaniyev is a Member of the Board of Directors of Lancaster Group. He also serves as Chairman of Lancaster Energy, Chairman of Lancaster Mining and Chairman of Lancaster Petroleum. Mr. Kaniyev is the founder and Chairman of football club “Arlan”. He is a co-founder of the Alumni Fund of the Republican Physics and Mathematics School (RPMS), its longtime contributor and a Member of its Alumni Committee.

Mr. Kaniyev was born in 1970 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He is a graduate of Kazakh State University and holds executive MBA degree from Duke University. Mr. Kaniyev is married and has four children. He enjoys football and skiing.
