Nurlan Kapparov
Chairman of the Board of Directors
In 1990 Mr. Kapparov founded Accept Corporation and worked as its President from 1991 to 1997. He served as President and CEO of Kazakh national companies KazTransOil from 1997 to 1998 and KazakhOil (currently KazMunaiGas) from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Kapparov was appointed Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 1999 where he worked until 2001 and was responsible for monitoring the oil and gas sector. In 2000 and 2001 he served as Chairman of North Caspian Operating Committee (Kashagan) and also as Head of the negotiations team of delimitation of Caspian Sea between Russia and Kazakhstan. Between 2001 and 2003 Mr. Kapparov was in the USA studying a Masters course in public administration. In 2003 Mr. Kapparov became Chairman of Lancaster Group and in the meantime served as Independent Director of PetroKazakhstan from 2003 to 2005.
Mr. Kapparov was born in 1970 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He is a graduate of Almaty Technological Institute and holds an MPA degree from J.F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. Mr. Kapparov is married with two children and enjoys golf, skiing and ice hockey.
